DOLPHIN: Delphinus delphis

The dolphin is an incredibly intelligent marine mammal. The average lifespan of a dolphin is 17 years but some live over 50 years in the wild. Dolphins range in size anywhere from 4’ up to 30’ (1-9 m). These marine mammals live in every ocean and even in some freshwater systems. Dolphins live in groups called pods where the bonds between the dolphins can be very strong. They have been observed taking care of injured, sick or elderly pod members.
A dolphin’s diet is mainly comprised of fish. Although dolphins have around 100 teeth, they do not chew their food; they swallow their food whole! In order to catch their prey, dolphins may force schools of fish into tight groupings and swim through the center with their mouths wide open.

We are often asked how to sanitize stuffed animals.

It's easy to do. You'll need a container, mild soap or detergent, and a spot for your Canned Critter or Mini Canned Critter to air dry. Some folks like to use clothes pins and an outdoor drying line.

How to give your new Canned Critter friend a bath:

  1. Fill a little tub with cool water and mild detergent.
  2. Hand wash your Canned Critter until they are nice and clean.
  3. Rinse and air dry.
